I am excited to represent this chapter as Co-President.
Heather Shepheard RN, MSN, CCRN

I have been a nurse for over 20 years with 17 years spent as a staff nurse in the CICU at Duke but now with the Clinical Transport Team. I have been a member of AACN for over 10 years and obtained my CCRN in 2009. In the CICU, I served as a charge nurse, RRT nurse, and preceptor. I also served as the head of the Clinical Practice Committee and as an Impella and Diabetes Champion.
I am excited to be learning new things in my new role as a Clinical Transport Nurse. I was fortunate enough to be awarded a Friends of Nursing award for Excellence in Coronary Care Unit Nursing in 2013. I am married to my Respiratory Therapist husband Joe and we have 2 cats one named Butters and the other named Bella. My husband and I love to travel and do so as often as we can. I am originally from Pittsburgh, PA and love all things Pittsburgh - especially the Steelers and Penguins.
